Saturday Showcase | Ghosts & Ghoulies

By | General, Saturday Showcase | One Comment

Happy Saturday! Let’s get ready for Halloween and take a closer look at Ghosts & Ghoulies.

“What’s not to love about this time of year!? October is filled with all of my favorites … Halloween, cooler air, colorful falling leaves and all things pumpkin and apple. I incorporated a few of those favorites on my card for today!”

“Bare branches, dark clouds, and a not-so-spooky ghost.  These are a few things that speak Halloween to me and pairing the Ghosts & Ghoulies stamp set with other non-Halloween products is a fun way to jumpstart your creativity!”

“Peek-a-BOO!!  These little ghosts and ghoulies are popping out to say hello!  They’re friendly, playful spirits who obviously like to have a good time and play a bit of hide and seek.  Straying from expected Halloween fare today, I’ve paired the Ghosts & Ghoulies collection with bright colors and smiles instead of black, orange, and ominous expressions.  I think ghosts can be happy, too, especially in October!”

“I love making seasonal gifts for family and friends; and in this case, a few of my “ghoul” friends! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!) I added a bow on the ghost’s head to make these favors a little more feminine and sweet! Halloween is the holiday with candy in mind, so these spooky & sweet candy shaped boxes with be the perfect treat!”

Saturday Showcase | Monster Cards & Treats

By | General, Saturday Showcase | No Comments

Today, we are getting into the Halloween spirit! Let’s take a closer look at the Monster dies.

Halloween will be so much fun this year, thanks to the Monster dies!  My kids and I created some super-silly tags for candy bars with the Monster and Tagged & Labeled dies.  It was a great family project and the sillier the faces got, the more the kids enjoyed making them!  Just grab the dies, your favorite Halloween cardstock colors, and some glue, then let the antics begin.

“Nothing is quite as spooky as a monster lurking in a haunted forest! I’ve created some fun Halloween treat holders using the Monster Dies paired with the Peaceful Forest stamp set, which doesn’t look so peaceful today! Ha ha! I love being able to get more mileage from my supplies, like I’ve shown today!”

“The Monster Dies from Ink to Paper are so much fun to create with.  Consider using the dies with felt or patterned paper to create character and interest.  Mix and match the dies using them in unsuspecting and unique ways, allowing each monster to have its own personality.”

Saturday Showcase | It’s a Sign: Love & Kindness

By | General, Saturday Showcase | No Comments

Let’s take a closer look at It’s a Sign: Love & Kindness.

“When it comes to love and kindness I always think of bright and cheerful colors. Pop on over to my blog to see how I created this rainbow colored card by mixing strips of colorful cardstock and the sentiment and images from It’s A Sign: Love & Kindness!”

“What I love most about the It’s a Sign:  Love & Kindness stamp set is that it can be paired with other sets so easily.  I’ve used the flower dies in this set with trim to create soft, delicate flowers that compliment the beautiful sentiment perfectly.”

When I was creating with Season of Joy for the September release, I remember thinking that the wreath in that set would be pretty for other seasons, too.  Being that fall is only a couple of days away, I decided to test out the theory with some autumn colors, creating several wreaths to use as a backdrop for the beautiful sentiment from It’s a Sign: Love & Kindness.  Turns out, it really does make a wonderful fall decoration, and with the message of appreciation nicely framed against a colorful bed of leaves, this simply made card is ready for giving.”

“I’ve been dying to try using the cute frame from It’s a Sign: Beautiful paired with the Love and Kindness sentiment and today was my chance! I love how easy it is to create cute miniature signs to accent my cards and projects! “

“I’m loving the chalkboard-look in Soft Stone…… allowing the pretty blooms from It’s a Sign: Love and Kindness to pop against the muted background and layered Bitty Big patterned papers.”

Saturday Showcase | Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch

By | General, Saturday Showcase | One Comment

Today, we are getting a little taste of fall! Let’s take a closer look at Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch collection.

“While Autumn is definitely on the horizon, it’s not here quite yet! I wanted to create a card with the current weather in mind; green leaves, crisp apples, and blue skies! The Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch is one of my favorites from the new release and is perfect to create cards and tags alike! Head to my blog to find out how I created these cards!”

“For a fun twist coloring the apples and leaves in this set, I used one of the small dots from the Watercolor Textures:  Dots stamp set and the small diamond from the Watercolor Textures:  Abstract stamp set.  I love the random blend and overlapping of colors using this fun technique.”

“One of my favorite things about this die and stamp set is how quick and easy it is to create such a detailed looking image!  I adore the basket and accompanying wood grain stamp!  In fact, I think this basket would look great filled with other seasonal images as well!  For my card today, I filled it with some crisp looking green apples..perfect for an early Autumn card!”

“When I was growing up, I remember my mom always had galvanized buckets of flowers and I thought it would be fun to create something along those same lines with the Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch set.  I chose a fall color palette and substituted apples for little flowers, but the sentiment ‘I will always pick you’ is still perfectly fitting!

Saturday Showcase | On the Border: Fall for Foliage

By | General, Saturday Showcase | 3 Comments

Today, we are diving into fall! Let’s take a closer look at On the Border: Fall for Foliage die collection.

“During the August release, my Fall for Foliage projects were very much fall-inspired — dark and moody, with quintessential autumn colors.  All of the amazing autumn products had me in the mood for that, but for today’s project, I decided to go a completely different route and brighten things up.  Even though my stamps and dies are still autumnal, adding shiny glitter cardstock and a lighter color palette makes them feel a little less sweater weather and a lot more late summer!

“There are so many creative ways to use the beautiful On the Border:  Fall Foliage die collection.  I’ve die cut my borders from watercolor cardstock and then sponged on a variety of fall colors.  After spritzing them with water, I watched the leaves come to life and blend softly together.”

“I’ve loved using the new On the Border: Fall for Foliage die for lots of Autumn inspired projects, but today I thought I’d try it in a cleaner, more modern way! It paired perfectly with the “For You” sentiment to create a crisp, streamlined thank you card. I love stretching my supplies to use them in many different ways!”

Let’s take a closer look at the Birdie stamp and die collection!

“My yard is filled with trees and as autumn arrives, I love watching the leaves change colors and begin to fall! For today’s card, I created a “window’s view” type perspective with the depth and size of the branch and leaves! I loved using so many of the new release products on this autumn thank you card!”

“Birdie is such a sweet and peaceful set. I love all of the bits and pieces included for building a beautiful tree branch. But for today, I chose a cheery, non traditional autumn color palette for my card and focused on just the flowers to create a pretty floral border. I also mixed it with a couple of must have dies from a previous release!”

“Overflowing with flowers, sweet birds, lovely bird cages, and heartfelt sentiments…how can you not be smitten with the new Birdie set?  I created a soft and airy design that would would work for many different occasions.  I combined this charming set with a couple of previously released products that I felt complimented each other very well!”
