Guest Designers – Bibi Cameron

By | Design Team Tips, General | 5 Comments

Hi Everyone! We are back with one of our guest designers today, Bibi Cameron.

Hello from Scotland! This is Bibi Cameron and  I’m thrilled to be able to share ideas and inspiration using some of the latest stamps and dies by Papertrey Ink. This is the first time I’m trying products from this brand and I’m totally in love! These are such beautiful, clever and versatile designs.

These multilayered die-cut cakes are yummy!  They are just perfect to make easy and quick
birthday, anniversary or wedding cards. You can create a one, two or a three-layer die-cut cake using Cake Creations Stamp and 29
pieces coordinating die set. The 48 pieces stamp set also includes tiny flowers, sentiments, numbers, and textures to stamp the different cake layers. I made two identical cakes for my cards today’s as at last minute I thought that it will be a good idea to make a quick video to show you how easy it is to stamp and put the cake together.

To stamp this card I used dye inks by Simon Says Stamp in the following colors: Sentiments and numbers | Black Cake and the flowers|   Cotton Candy, Apricot. Flowers Centres |  Sunshine Leaves| Green Apple, Leaf Green Cake Stand  | Green Leaf
Paper Used | Hero Arts Dove for stamping and 300 grams watercolor paper for the card base. Embellishments | Fashion Gold by Spellbinders and Linen Thread. I also used Border Bling: Tin Stitch Die to add a pattern to the card base

For this card, I used the same supplies as for the card above but this time I added a hint of Red Apple dye ink to the flowers.
I also added gold glitter cardstock to add some sparkle to the cake candles and the banner.

I also applied a super simple paper piecing technique to make the background of this card using  From the Heart Border Die. The large die cut sentiment was made using  “To Die For Sentiments” die set which is truly stunning! As I couldn’t stop there,  I also made a couple of CAS cards using these two gorgeous die sets but for those, I used red mirror cardstock.

I also incorporate sentiments from  “Just Sentiments: Valentine” 11 pieces stamp set. For precision stamping, I also use the help of a stamping platform to stamp all the cards in this post.

That’s all for today I hope you like these ideas.
Thank you very much for having me today.
Hugs
Bibi

Birthday Bouquet + Border Bling: Skinny Frame + To Die For Sentiments: Birthday

By | New Product Collections | 106 Comments

Welcome to our final day of introductions for the January 2020 Release! Today’s new stamps and dies in this month’s collections are all about birthdays! So, let’s get going to and preview the new must-have stamps and dies.

Birthday Bouquet Stamps + Dies

STAMPS:  Birthday Bouquet
INK:  Spring Moss, Spring Rain, Autumn Rose, Lavender Moon, Amethyst Allure, Prairie Grass, Bright Buttercup, Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst, Olive Twist
PAPER:  Stamper’s Select White, Bitty Big Spring Moss
DIES:  Birthday Bouquet, Pierced Feature Frames:  Oval, Tag Creations:  Delightful Bunch
OTHER:  seam binding, trim, sequins, vellum

Border Bling: Skinny Frame Die

To Die For Sentiments: Birthday Die

Birthdays are meant to be fun and what better way to show this than by using lively, bright colors and confetti?  A border of embossed white Sprinkles Galore on a kraft background enhances the colors and lets your recipient know you’re ready to celebrate with them and have a good time!  This can easily be turned into a more masculine card by simply switching out the Sweet Blush for a different cardstock color–easy!

STAMPS: Sprinkles Galore
INK: Watermark
PAPER: Sweet Blush, Limeade Ice, Summer Sunrise, Classic Kraft, White
DIES: To Die For Sentiments: Birthday, Border Bling: Embossed Skinny Frame
OTHER: white embossing powder, 1/8″ hole punch

My main idea for this card was to think beyond what was presented to me: For instance, just because dies are in a set of Birthday sentiments doesn’t mean they all have to be used exclusively for birthdays!  This card was all about celebrating something special and it can be used for a birthday, of course, but it’s also suited for many celebratory occasions like Mother’s Day, a wedding, anniversary, or a big achievement.  And even though the little die cut florals didn’t come with the bouquet they’re used with, they look so pretty dotted around the leaves and stems just the same.  And why not take a an itty bitty 3-dot stamp and turn it into a custom background?  That’s what makes card-making so special–thinking outside the box and having a whole lot of fun doing it!

STAMPS: Birthday Bouquet, Simply Sweet: Blessed
INK: Aqua Mist, True Black
PAPER: Autumn Rose, Tropical Teal, Luxe Silver, White, American Crafts patterned paper
DIES: To Die For Sentiments: Birthday, Border Bling: Skinny Frame, Birthday Bouquet, Sweet Celebrations, Banner Builder: Basics
OTHER: crystal droplets, silver thread

Guest Designers – Michelle Lupton

By | Design Team Tips, General | 5 Comments

Hi Everyone! We are back with one of our guest designers today, Michelle Lupton.

Hello! I’m Michelle from Melbourne, Australia. I spend most of my time teaching biology to Uni students, but try to find as much time as I can to make cards. I’ve been crafty for as long as I can remember, but only started my card-making blog in 2011. My card-making style has evolved a bit since then, but I always seem to gravitate to clean and simple. I am so excited to have been asked to create with these gorgeous products from Ink to Paper! You can find my blog HERE, and you can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest.

I moved the alcohol ink around on the Yupo paper with a Ranger Distress Marker Spritzer so I could keep some control over where the colours went and how much blending I got.

I embossed the Yupo paper with the cover die before adding the alcohol pearl inks, so there is texture on the Yupo behind the sentiment.

This card is a one-layer card – I started with the border die, then masked off the bottom edge and stamped the foliage using a bunch of different green inks on the central area of the card.

Guest Designers – Svitlana Shayevich

Hi Everyone! We are back with one of our guest designers today, Svitlana Shayevich.

Vase with leafy stems can work for many occasions and alternating colors you can make this design work for different seasons as well. I added twine around the vase neck for some natural feeling. Border Bling: Tin Stitch die-cut out of a Aqua Mist Cardstock is a beautiful background for this vase.

This elegant On the Border: From the Heart Frame is perfect for Valentine’s and Love cards. I used die cut inlay technique to create a multi color design. To pop up the sentiment I stacked red and white die-cuts with a slight shift. For additional interest and pop of color I added several red crystals.

I made a blended background using inks of two colors and then sprinkled it with water. After adhering the On the Border: From the Heart Frame die cut I run it through a die-cutting machine with a thin shim to “press” the die-cut into the background. And then I trimmed the edges to then foam mounted it onto a white card base. The sentiment I stamped using the same inks that I used to make the background.
